Nosework For Fun

Our Nosework for Fun class is a scent-based enrichment course for dogs over 6 months old that taps into your dog’s natural sniffing instincts! It is great for all breeds, ages, and energy levels! When our dogs get to use their nose, it even builds confidence, focus, and teamwork!

Classes are taught by Elizabeth, a certified KPA-CTP as well as former IPWDA-Certified K9 Search & Rescue Human Remains Detection Handler. Learn more > here!

We welcome shy and reactive dogs! This class is designed so dogs work one-at-a-time, with no off-leash or dog-to-dog interactions—making it a safe and supportive space for sensitive pups!

  • Intro

    • Develop your dog’s natural search drive

    • Interpret their unique body language

    • Learn how to incorporate scent games (utilizing food + toy reinforcers) into everyday life

  • Intermediate

    • Introduce odor imprinting (such as Birch) used in scent trials

    • Continue to build confident, independent search skills

  • Advanced

    • Expand searches with varied environments, distractions, and increased difficulty

    • Developing accuracy, independence, and trial-style skills as a team.

This course teaches you and your dog to work together as a team to develop search skills, learning to read your dog’s unique body language, and incorporating scent games into everyday life. These activities provide meaningful mental and physical enrichment while building confidence, focus, and a more fulfilled dog.

Class Requirements

  • Dogs are required to have up-to-date vaccinations, flea/tick and intestinal parasite preventative.

  • PRIOR TRAINING: No prior training necessary!

  • We welcome shy and reactive dogs! This class is designed so dogs work one-at-a-time, with no off-leash or dog-to-dog interaction—making it a safe and supportive space for sensitive pups. If you have concerns for reactivity towards people, this please contact me prior to signing up.
